This design project aimed to create a visually engaging poster and playbill for a comedic production that abridged all of Shakespeare’s works into a single performance. To capture the playful and humorous nature of the play, I opted for a dynamic collage style. The central image features a cutout of William Shakespeare’s head, replaced with a collage of the cast photo and iconic elements from various Shakespearean plays. This playful manipulation of the classic portrait symbolizes the unconventional and comedic approach to the Bard’s works.
To further emphasize the lighthearted tone, the text is presented on ripped pieces of paper, suggesting a spontaneous and improvised nature. The bold and rough font, Blackout Midnight, adds a touch of irreverence and complements the overall chaotic aesthetic. By combining these design elements, I aimed to create a visually striking and humorous piece that accurately reflects the spirit of the production.
